Everyone’s a storyteller. We tell our stories through improvisation and acting. And we’re telling five to seven stories a week. We’re looking for people like you who aren’t afraid to engage an audience and ensure them the best IMPROVactive experience possible.
We’re auditioning for these upcoming roles:
"Briggs & Radley: River of Resentment Dinner Feud" is an immersive dinner theater experience set aboard the Perdido Queen riverboat. The story unfolds around the intense rivalry between two families, the Briggs and the Radleys, who both claim ownership of the riverboat. The drama reaches its peak when long-buried secrets and a forbidden romance between Emily Briggs and William Radley come to light. As tensions rise, the town's mayor, Casey Collins, steps in as the evening's host and mediator, guiding the audience through a thrilling journey of accusations, revelations, and ultimately, a quest for reconciliation. The show combines humor, suspense, and audience interaction, making for an unforgettable evening on the water.

Finding Santa: The Fantastical Riverboat Adventure is a heartwarming holiday story where Mrs. Claus, alongside a boatload of children, embarks on a thrilling journey to find Santa Claus, who has gone missing right before Christmas. With the help of the jovial Captain Jolly and the brave alligator-hopping lumberjack, Buck Pine, they navigate the Mobile River Delta, encountering challenges and magical moments along the way. The adventure includes singing Christmas carols, enjoying cocoa and cookies, and sharing a touching story. As they search for Santa, the skeptical child, Sam, learns to believe in the magic of Christmas. The journey culminates in a joyful reunion with Santa, who reminds everyone of the true spirit of the season.

He is a master at steering the boat through tricky waters and has a knack for making everyone feel safe and entertained. Despite his tough exterior, Buck has a soft spot for Christmas and believes in its magic, making him a key ally in the quest to find Santa.

Sam is a curious and intelligent child who struggles with believing in the magic of Christmas. A bit skeptical and often questioning, Sam tends to approach things with a logical mindset. Throughout the adventure, Sam's doubts about Santa and the holiday spirit are challenged by the experiences on the riverboat and the stories shared by Mrs. Claus and the crew. As the journey progresses, Sam's heart begins to open up to the possibility of magic, culminating in a heartfelt realization about the true meaning of Christmas.

Santa Claus, the jolly and generous figure beloved by children around the world, is the central figure of this adventure. Santa has a playful side and often tests the faith and belief of those around him. The Murder Creek Mystery Show™ is a thrilling and immersive whodunnit-style show set on the scenic Perdido Queen Riverboat in Mobile, Alabama. This unique experience blends mystery, improv, and audience participation, inviting you to become a citizen of Murder Creek and help solve a captivating whodunnit. With each performance being an unscripted, unpredictable adventure filled with live entertainment, song, and dance, every visit offers a fresh and engaging storyline. Performances take place four times a week, ensuring there's always a new mystery to uncover.

With a sharp wit and a knack for comedy, they seamlessly blend their improv skills with hosting duties, engaging the audience and guiding them through the twists and turns of the mystery. By day, they're a master storyteller with a vivid imagination, crafting intricate narratives that captivate and entertain. By night, they're a part-time stand-up comedian, known for their impeccable comedic timing and ability to leave the audience in stitches. The Detective is not just solving crimes; they are delivering an unforgettable, laughter-filled experience.

Bay Cities Improv was founded in 2013 and for the past five years, we have produced over 150 shows per year locally. Our actors have performed for more than 25,000 fans! As you can see, we need talented actors, improvisers, singers, dancers, and storytellers.

Your cover letter should include why you wish to be involved with Bay Cities Improv Company, any of our shows you have seen in the past, and who referred you to the company, if applicable. Please keep the entire contents of the email, including attachments, to around 5MB.
While we review all submissions, we only have a limited number of audition slots available. Priority is given to actors recommended to audition by current company members as well as people familiar with our work.
