Before heading to Murder Creek...
Here’s everything you’re going to need to know in solving this case.

Tax Day looms like a shadow, casting an ominous air over the gathering of IRS agents, accountants, and financial consultants in the opulent conference room of a prestigious accounting firm. Amidst the clinking of glasses and echoes of laughter, a sinister undercurrent flows unnoticed, until it erupts into chaos with the discovery of a lifeless body.
Looks like someone’s fiscal year ended early…
Prominent accountant Carl Dawson lies murdered, his demise shattering the facade of celebration. As the festivities dissolve into shock and suspicion, it becomes evident that beneath the veneer of professionalism lurks a dark labyrinth of envy, ambition, and betrayal.
Tasked with unraveling this tangled web of deceit, you must aid a seasoned IRS agent in peeling back layers of deception to expose the killer lurking among the shadows. But in the treacherous landscape of Murder Creek, you must tread carefully. Trust is a luxury, and everyone wears the cloak of guilt until proven innocent.

We believe there may be a couple more, but we’ve identified the following:
Evelyn Blackwell - Motive: Evelyn had a long-standing rivalry with Carl Dawson. As fellow accountants in the same firm, they often competed for clients and recognition. However, Carl's innovative tax strategies consistently overshadowed Evelyn's more traditional approach, leading to resentment and jealousy. Losing clients to Carl and witnessing his success fueled her desire to eliminate him, clearing the path for her (his) own ascent within the firm. Alibi: Evelyn claims she (he) was in her (his) office on the other side of the building when the murder occurred. She (he) was working to finalize some tax returns for clients and had no reason to leave her (his) desk. However, it is discovered that she (he) left her (his) office briefly during the time of the murder, providing an opportunity to slip into the conference room unnoticed.
Alan (Alana) Parker - Motive: Alan (Alana), a junior IRS agent, harbored deep-seated animosity towards Carl Dawson. Despite his (her) own competence, Carl's reputation as a top accountant often overshadowed Alan's (Alana’s) accomplishments within the agency. Feeling overlooked and undervalued, Alan (Alana) saw Carl as a barrier to his (her) own success and resented him for stealing the spotlight. Alibi: Alan (Alana) initially claims he (she) was out for a walk during the time of the murder, needing some fresh air to clear his (her) head after a long day at work. However, it is discovered that Alan's (Alana’s) walk coincided suspiciously with the timeframe of the murder, raising doubts about his (her) whereabouts and motives.
Thomas (Thomasina) Greene - Motive: Thomas (Thomasina), a senior accountant with a shady reputation, saw Carl Dawson as a threat to his (her) own illicit practices. Carl's ethical approach to tax planning posed a risk to Thomas's (Thomasina’s) schemes, potentially exposing his (her) fraudulent activities and jeopardizing his (her) lucrative business dealings. Eliminating Carl would not only remove a formidable competitor but also safeguard Thomas's (Thomasina’s) illicit enterprises. Alibi: Thomas (Thomasina) insists he (she) was in the break room with some friends when the murder occurred, providing audience members as alibi witnesses. He (she) claims he (she) had no reason to harm Carl and dismisses any insinuations of involvement. However, the witnesses are not reliable, and financial records linking Thomas (Thomasina) to suspicious transactions involving Carl's clients, reveal a compelling motive for his (her) actions.
Sugar Mae - Motive: Sugar Mae, a country music singer wannabe, had a tumultuous relationship with Carl Dawson, who was her boyfriend. Despite her dreams of stardom, she felt overshadowed by Carl's success and financial stability. Their relationship was often fraught with arguments and tension, exacerbated by Carl's reluctance to support her music career financially. Sugar Mae saw Carl's wealth and connections as a means to further her own aspirations, but his unwillingness to invest in her dreams fueled resentment and bitterness. Alibi: Sugar Mae claims she was rehearsing for an upcoming gig outside at the time of the murder, supported by witness testimony from her backup dancers. She insists that she had no reason to harm Carl, despite their tumultuous relationship. However, It is revealed that text messages exchanged between them, show heated arguments and threats of violence, casting doubt on Sugar Mae's claims of innocence.
